Atlanta Regional Commission The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for the 10-county area including Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties, as well as the City of Atlanta. For 60 years, ARC and its predecessor agencies have helped to focus the region's leadership, attention and resources on key issues of regional consequence.

Clayton Collaborative Authority Created in 1997 by Senate Bill 355 as an instrumentality and political subdivision of the State of Georgia, is designed to achieve the following important goals for the benefit of children and families in the county: improved child health, improved child development, improved family functioning, improved school performance, and improved family economic capacity.

Clayton State University, founded in 1969, is a unit of the University System of Georgia, an outstanding comprehensive metropolitan university that currently enrolls more than 6,500 students in degree credit programs that, in the words of the University's mission, provide "career-oriented education with a solid liberal arts foundation." Clayton State's academic programs now include more than 30 bachelor's degrees and eight master's degrees. The past five years at Clayton State have been highlighted by the University being ranked in the first tier of comparable institutions in the south by U.S. News & World Report, and the reaffirmation of the University's accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Clayton County Community Services Authority addresses needs and concerns of low-income families, the elderly, and the handicapped citizens of Clayton, Fayette and Henry Counties. The agency handles programs such as: Head Start, Child Development (day care), Weatherization and Energy, Transportation, and Legal Aid. Gateway Village Project A business campus innovatively meeting the needs of today's technology-based society through life long learning. Greenspace Program The Georgia General Assembly created the Georgia Greenspace Program during the 2000 legislative session by enacting Senate Bill 399 (codified as Official Code of Georgia Annotated Sec. 36-22-1 et seq.). The statute assigns responsibility for program administration to the Department of Natural Resources. The Clayton County Greenspace Program is monitored by the Greenspace Office of Transportation and Development.

Recycling The Clayton County Recycling Drop-Off Center accepts certain recyclable materials. For certain items your waste hauler may not pick up, please contact Refuse Control to arrange for pick up. Reynolds Nature Preserve The William H. Reynolds Nature Preserve is dedicated to promoting public awareness of appreciation of our natural environment. The preserve encompasses 130 acres of undisturbed woodlands, ponds, and streams. Four miles of well defined foot paths are laid out in convenient half-mile loops to bring hikers back their starting point.

 The Safe America Foundation driving course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of private, individual, behind-the-wheel training. The 36-hour course has been certified by the state of Georgia, so graduates will receive the full benefits of having taking driver's education.

Southern Regional Health System Southern Regional Health System is a leader in providing innovative healthcare to metro Atlanta. It offers a 331-bed, full-service hospital in Riverdale, Georgia with a robotic surgery program, an accredited chest pain center and the Women's Life Center. Volunteer Group for Seniors -The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP Program) , one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation, since 1971 has matched local problems with older Americans who are willing to help. RSVP projects link the skills of the volunteers with identified community needs. The volunteers determine how many hours a week they can serve. RSVP volunteers do not receive any stipend, but the RSVP project may reimburse them for certain out-of-pocket costs associated with their service activities.

USGS Water Information Network for Clayton County - USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) cooperates with other Federal, State, county, city, and natural-resources groups to study hydrologic situations, monitor surface- and ground-water resources, and to provide information to help solve water quantity and quality problems. The GWIN (Georgia Water Information Network) system is meant to allow both the citizen and government officials to investigate the water resources in their county.
