The Clayton County Judicial Circuit boundaries are the same as the boundaries of Clayton County. This circuit serves more than 251,000 people.

MAGISTRATE COURT'S jurisdiction encompasses civil claims of $15,000 or less, which includes various civil actions, garnishments, foreclosures of personal property, and abandoned motor vehicles. In addition, temporary protective orders, county ordinance violations, applications for and issuance of arrest and search warrants, preliminary hearings, dispossessory writs, writs and distress warrants are handled in the Magistrate Court. No jury trials are held in this court. Appeals from this court are made to the Superior and State Courts.
